This is my father Yakov Brover during his mandatory military service. This photo was taken in Bobruysk in 1936. My father sent us this photo as a postcard. On the back side he wrote in Russian with grammar mistakes.
From 1936 till 1938 my father was a soldier in the Red Army. When the Finnish war (1939-1940) began, my father was recruited to the army again. He was a first sergeant in infantry. He had his feet frost-bitten there and returned home with big red toes.
