To close out our US State Department grant, we spent an afternoon with nearly 90 teachers and students from schools all over Poland, and we awarded prizes for best videos. Thanks, first of all, to the Friedrich Ebert Foundation in Warsaw for helping make this event possible. Centropa is proud to announce the launch of Remember. Empower. Act: Memory, Identity, and Education Against Antisemitism (REACT), a new 24-month European project bringing together intergenerational memory, Jewish youth activism, education, and artistic expression co-funded by the European Union.
Mapping Jewish memory brings teachers, university and school students together from Germany, Greece, Hungary, Austria, Poland, Serbia and Croatia to learn more about 20th century Jewish history. Our aim is to strengthen European Holocaust remembrance by mapping historically significant sites related to the Holocaust and Jewish life before and after the war.
