Teacher training seminar in Sopron, Hungary

Behind the historical events and tragedies of the 20th century, behind the numbers and figures, there are individual lives and human destinies. A glimpse into a life's journey makes it easier to understand and experience the history that connects us all.

During the seminar, we will provide professional assistance with teaching materials and methods for teaching the history of Jews and the Holocaust, and for implementing projects that actively involve students. We welcome applications from primary and secondary school teachers.

During the seminar we will....

  • discover Sopron's Jewish heritage, past and present;
  • present personal stories from Centropa's archives, and the teaching tools and methods associated with them;
  • hear good practices from experienced Centropa teachers;
  • jointly develop new teaching materials;
  • present Centropa's educational programmes for students, exhibitions and city walks.

The programme starts at 13:00 on 21 March and ends at 13:30 on 23 March.

Deadline for applications: 9 February. Applications will be confirmed no later than 13 February.
