Teacher training seminar in Palanga and Plungė

We kindly invite Lithuanian educators who have previously participated in a Centropa event to apply for our next training seminar, which will be held in Palanga and Plungė from March 27-29, 2025. The seminar is organized together with our local partner, the International Commission for the Evaluation of the Crimes of the Nazi and Soviet Occupation Regimes in Lithuania.

We invite teachers, museum workers, librarians and representatives of non-governmental organizations to participate and share your professional experience in how to preserve the historical memory of the history of the Jewish community in Lithuania, losses during the Holocaust, and to discuss different ways of (public) remembrance.

During the seminar, we will present you with pedagogical materials by Centropa based on the life stories of Lithuanian Jews: for example, a newly translated interview with Jakov Bunka from Plungė. We will also offer historical lectures, workshops based on Centropa materials and thematic excursions.

This seminar will deepen your knowledge of Jewish culture, historical heritage, and help you find colleagues from other regions with whom you can share pedagogical and professional experience in teaching about the history of Lithuanian Jews and the Holocaust. Seminar language will be Lithuanian.

Centropa will provide accommodation (in twin rooms), and meals during seminar hours. Travel expenses to and from the seminar will not be covered.

Application for our Seminar in Palanga and Plungė is closed. Thank you for your interest!
