Day 2, Friday, July 3rd, 2026 - Jewish Vienna (Interwar)

08:15 - Meet in lobby

08:30 - Depart for walking tour of Jewish Vienna

09:00 - Guided tour of Jewish Vienna with focus on interwar period

11:00 - Leopoldmuseum

12:45 - Lunch

14:00 - Walk to Austrian Parliament

14:30 - Tour of parliament, and exhibition, discussion with Hannah Lessing and Rivka Junger on Jewish life, prevention of Antisemitism, and Holocaust Education.

19:30 Optional Shabbat service (location tbc)

20:30 Shabbat dinner (tbc)

Day 3, Saturday, July 4th, 2026 - Holocaust and resistance

08:30 - Bus departs to Mexikoplatz

09:00 - Participant-centered learning activity through the 2nd and 1st district, based on Centropa interview excerpts on the time of the Anschluss. End at Heldenplatz

11:00 - Bus departs to Shoah Wall of Names Memorial

11:15 - Guided tour at Shoah Wall of Names Memorial

12:00 - Bus departs for conference venue

12:30 - Lunch at conference venue

13:30 - Panel - Challenges in teaching about the Holocaust

14:30 - Marketplace of Ideas

15:45 - Coffee break

16:00 - Elective groups meet

Day 4, Sunday, July 5th, 2026 - After war/ Re-building life

09:00 - Jewish Museum 

11:00 -  Return to conference venue

14:00 - Centropa: 25 years of story telling 
Introduction to Cafe Centropa with film screening of Leo Luster

14:30 - Leo Luster film 

15:00 - Cafe Centropa with survivors and their families and coffee

Day 5, Monday, July 6th, 2026 - Vienna to Prague

09:00 - Bus transport to Brno

11:15 - Visit of Synagogue Agudas Achim, Brno

11:45 - Participants split up into 3 groups. Each group will trace a different Centropa biography in Brno.

13:15 - Lunch and jigsaw activity (bringing groups together)

14:45 - Bus transfer to Prague

17:00 - Check into hotel

Day 6, Tuesday July 7th, 2026 - Jewish Prague

9:00 - Public transport to Prague Jewish Museum

9:30 - Tour of the synagogues (Old New synagogue & Spanish synagogue), exhibitions and old Jewish cemetery of the Prague Jewish Museum

12:30 - Lunch

13:30 - Historical lecture on Czech Jewish History by Dr. Tomasz Kraus

14:30 - Screening of Centropa’s film ‘My escape from Prague’ about Jindrich Lion

14:45 - Centropa session followed by discussion on using materials in class

15:15 - Working Coffee break

15:30 - Creating your final presentations for the electives

17:00 - Free evening

Day 7, Wednesday July 8th, 2026 - Full-day excursion to the Concentration Camp Terezín (Theresienstadt)

07:30 - Meet in the hotel lobby

07:45 - Bus transfer to Terezín

08:45 - Arrive at Small Fortress

09:00 - Guided tour through the Small Fortress

10:30 - Bus Transfer to Terezín 

10:45 - Coffee break

11:15 - Centropa film screening in Ghetto Museum (Dagmar Lieblová)

11:45 - Individual visit of Ghetto Museum

13:00 - Lunch

13:45 - Guided tour of Terezín

15:45 - Participant learning activity on 2 different sites (to be chosen beforehand)

2. Square (impressions on Marktplatz) -Visit of Red Cross (walk the

Day 8, Thursday, July 9th, 2026 - Reflecting and wrapping up

10:45 - Reflection on Terezin

11:15 - A meeting with Centropa Interviewee and Holocaust Survivor Michaela Vidlakova

15:00 - Finalising presentations / get ready to present
