Markus Freundorfer

Markus Freundorfer is an experienced educator, currently teaching English and History at a secondary school in Miesbach, Germany. With over 20 years of teaching experience, he has dedicated his teaching to fostering civic education and historical awareness among students.

In addition to his role as a classroom teacher, he serves as a seminar instructor focused on fundamental questions of civic education and history. He is also a staff member at the Ministry’s representative office in Upper Bavaria, where he contributes to educational initiatives.

Previously, Markus worked at the Museum Education Center in Munich, where he developed programs to engage students with historical content. He is also an author of history textbooks.

His involvement in various Centropa seminars across Germany, Poland, Greece, Georgia, and other countries has enriched his understanding of European Jewish history and its complexities. Furthermore, he collaborates with teachers from Israel on projects addressing antisemitism, aiming to promote understanding and tolerance among students.

Through his diverse experiences and dedication to education, Markus continues to make a significant impact in the field of teaching and civic engagement.
