Ingrida Vilkiene

Ingrida is Deputy director at the Secretariat of the International Commission for the Evaluation of the Crimes of the Nazi and Soviet Occupation Regimes in Lithuania.

She studied history at Vilnius Pedagogical University (1989 – 1994, Master Degree) and Educational Management at Lithuanian University of Educational Sciences (2014 – 2016, Master Degree). Before her time at the International Historical Commission, Ingrida worked at the Kaunas IX. Fort Museum and as a history teacher. 

Since 2005, Ingrida has been working for the International Commission, and is responsible for organizing educational activities (projects, seminars, conferences). Since 2004 the International Commission started creating a national network of Tolerance Educational Centers (TEC) in Lithuania’s schools and other educational institutions. At this moment there are 172 TECs within the network and Ingrida initiates school projects and commemorations of remembrance days etc. For Centropa, Ingrida helps organizing and running teacher training seminars as well as seeing about Centropa's educators network in Lithuania.
