Ingrida Vilkiene

Ingrida is the deputy director of the Secretariat of the International Commission for the Evaluation of the Crimes of the Nazi and Soviet Occupation Regimes in Lithuania.

She studied history at Vilnius Pedagogical University (1989–1994, master's degree) and education management at the Lithuanian University of Educational Sciences (2014–2016, master's degree). Before joining the International Historical Commission, Ingrida worked at the 9th Fortress Museum in Kaunas and as a history teacher.

She has been working for the International Commission since 2005 and is responsible for organizing educational activities (projects, seminars, conferences). As early as 2004, the Commission began to establish a national network of Tolerance Education Centers (TECs) in Lithuanian schools and other educational institutions. Currently, this network comprises 172 TECs. Ingrida initiates school projects and commemorative events on remembrance days. For Centropa, she supports the organization and implementation of teacher training courses and supervises the network of Centropa educators in Lithuania.
