Cost Details for US teachers

We will bring 20 US educators to the Summer Academy.

The cost of the trip is estimated at around $5,000/person:

  • $2,000 for air fare (and this might also cover some or all of travel insurance, which we require)
  • $2,500 for ground expenses (shared hotel room, meals, transportation during trip, museum and site fees, speakers, venues, materials, etc)
  • $500 for administrative costs

Each participant is required to cover:

  • $200 registration fee
  • travel insurance
  • getting to/from airports
  • meals on 4 or so free evenings
  • any extras you might want for your flights (legroom, more than 1 bag, trips costs beyond what it will cost to bring you back and have you return home directly, etc.)

We do our best to raise the $5,000 for public school teachers, and prioritize those who use Centropa and for whom our resources will continue to be used in their classes. Educators in private/independent schools, museums, universities, and other organizations must cover all of the costs of their own (or, as most do, have their institutions cover it).

European and Israeli teachers

Cost details and application forms for European and Israeli teachers will be published in February.
