First of all, a big thank to all the friends and colleagues who presented their work today. I learnt something, and will probably borrow ideas and tips, from each and every one of you. Also thank you to our hosts this afternoon, the venue added a lot to the very pleasant atmosphere.
The main reason why I decided to write this posting is this. For me, as a relatively new teacher, it is very inspiring to see such dedicated professionals as we heard and saw today. It is even more inspiring, and encouraging, to see and hear the work of their students. Today I once again realized how much we as teachers matter, and how much hope and courage we ourselves can draw from our students. Just remember - to give only one example of the presentations that were given - those two lovely girls from Mannheim, and think of what they taught us today. With all the problems that the various countries that we live in face today, and all the reasons to worry and be careful, there are many more reasons for optimism. We were offered several dozens of such reasons today.
