The students of the 1st class from a Highschool in Thessaloniki in Greece created a video about Moshe Haelion, a Holocaust survivor. Moshe Haelion was born in Thessaloniki in Greece on 26th February 1926. He survived Auschwitz, the death march, Mauthausen, Melk and Ebensee.
The students of the Second Class from a High School in Thessaloniki in Greece created a video about the Kindertransport,the organised rescue effort that took place during the nine months prior the outbreak of the Second World War. They also mentioned the story of Lilli Tauber.
On the 15th of November 2017, the final phase of the Student's Film Festival of Hasdeu – the 5th edition, took place at the National College “Iulia Hasdeu” Lugoj. During this project the students of National College “Iulia Hasdeu” Lugoj realised short films themed “The history of my family”. In those short films the students used old pictures of their families and took interviews featuring their grandparents and parents.
The 9th of October represents the National Day of Commemorating the Holocaust in Romania. For this day, the students of the National College „Iulia Hasdeu” Lugoj took part in some activities related to it. They joined in into the Jewish Community of Lugoj in a ceremony organized by the city synagogue. There, Mr. Ivan Bloch, president of the community, talked to the students about the tragedy that this historical event is.
Centropa is an Institute that is preoccupied with preserving the memory of the Jewish population from the Central Europe region. The main tool of interaction between Centropa and the public is its website, http://www.centropa.org/. Through this site’s means Centropa offers a variety of teaching materials.
Cooperation between 6 different countries inspired by Centropa (CSA2015). The main topic is Tolerance- "You on my mind'. In every country the activities focus on different aspects of our society eg. In Czech it was tolerance through art and the main focus was Jewish coulture, in Finland it was refugees and in Poland ( Wrocław ) it will be multicultural society and the history of our city.
Students ( age 13-15) choose their own favourite Courageous Person and present them to the rest of the class. International cooperation with other schools( USA, Germany, Greece). The exhibition of posters was presented to all teachers, students and parents during parents' meetings.
