The wedding of Sara Amarilio at Matanot Laevionim

This is a family photograph, taken at my sister Sara's wedding in Matanot Laevionim Synagogue in Thessaloniki in 1936. My sister Sara Amarilio, nee Leon, was born in 1912. I remember her wedding in 1936 very well. Sara was married to Sam Amarilio. They chose to have their wedding at Matanot Laevionim. It was a welfare institution and had a synagogue, too. Their marriage was very aristocratic. In the second row from right to left second is my father Isaac Leon and third is my mother Riketa Leon, nee Sciaky. In the third row from right to left the fifth is my sister Sara's husband Sam Amarilio, sixth the bride, seventh is my brother Jacque Leon, ninth is my brother Juda Leon, tenth is my brother Juda's wife Victoria Leon, nee Molho, eleventh is my cousin Alberto Leon and next to him is his wife, my eldest sister, Rahel Leon.
