Vera Erak on vacation in Zagreb

The picture was taken in 1946 in Zagreb. I am the first on the right, half crouching. This trip was a gift which I received from my firm, Planum, a military construction company, where I began working immediately after graduation from the gymnasium in 1946. I worked at this company as a clerk and was considered a hardworking employee. In appreciation for my hard work, they sent me on a paid vacation. Exhaustion from the war, poverty, and my stay with the partisans all made this vacation more pleasurable.
