The picture was taken in 1955 in Split, Croatia, at the beach. I am pictured first from the right with my son, Branko, my daughter Vesna, and my mother Edith.
After liberation, my mother worked as a clerk for a short period of time. After that she devoted herself to her family. She died in 1983 in Zemun.
My husband, Pavle Ruman, and I had a son, Branislav, in 1947, and a daughter, Vesna, in 1951. I had a harmonious marriage until the tragic death of my husband in March 1952. In the firm where he worked, he was hit by a broken high voltage cable and was killed instantly. Although I was a single mother, with the help of my parents I succeeded in educating the children. Branislav attended a two year mechanical engineering college and he is an engineer, and my daughter Vesna finished a two year medical college. I did everything in my power to provide them with a carefree childhood. Whenever I was able, I took them to the seaside. I tried in every way to alleviate the fact that they lost their father so early. I think that I succeeded in this.
