Tinka Kohen, Pepo Kohen and Leah Kohen-Ausburger at a picnic

This is my family: Pepo Kohen, my husband, Leah Kohen-Ausburger, my daughter, and me at a picnic. The photo was probably taken in 1945-46 since my son Valeri had not yet been born. I can't tell the story of this particular picnic, but our family used to go to Vitosha Mountain, every opportunity we had. I gave birth to Leah in June 1942. Pepo was in a labor camp again. I don't remember how much time he spent at home - it was only a few months. In May 1943 we were interned to Vratsa and in April 1944 we moved to Sliven to live with my sister. Our second child, Valeri, was born in 1947. We lived in a rented apartment, we were not well off, but we managed to educate our children. Leah graduated from the Academy of Music and became a music critic.
