Sima Shvarts' parents-in-law, Chaya and Ilya Veksler

These are my my husband's parents, Chaya and Ilya Veksler. The photo was taken around 1925-1926 in Kiev. My husband's family comes from Gomel in Belarus. His father worked at the construction site of the Kiev central train station. My husband's parents were very good, wonderful people. They received me very nicely and made friends with my mother. They had five children. My husband's parents were religious, kept all traditions, and went to the synagogue. My husband was the eldest son; he had a sister Roza, brother Grisha, a sister Sonya and brother Izya. Only Izya is still alive today. He lives in Kiev. He celebrated his golden wedding last year. During the war my mother-in-law (my father-in-law was no longer alive) remained in Kiev and evacuated with the family of her other son. She came back after the war to Kiev and died in the 1960s.
