Sarah Manilova and her family

This is my sister's Sarah family. In the bottom row from left to right: a distant relative of my of sister's Sarah husband (I do not remember her name), Sarah, Sarah's mother-in-law Hana, my mother Fruma Manilova. In the second row to the left: my father Shulim Manilov, my sister Sarah's husband Mikhail, my sister Raisa Manilova. The photo was taken in Kharkov in 1963. My parents and sisters came back to Kharkov from evacuation in late 1944, shortly after the liberation of the city. The tractor plant, where my father worked before the war, was transferred to the city as well. My father kept working at the Kharkov tractor plant and my mother remained a housewife. My eldest sister Sarah entered the law department of Kharkov University. My youngest sister entered the Kharkov Medical Institute. Both of my sisters got married. In the 1970s, mass immigration to Israel started. My wife and I weren't going to immigrate. Both of us worked, and made pretty good money and the children were also settled. There was no need for us to leave our relatives and comfortable life. Many of our relatives left at that time. Both of my sisters immigrated with their families in the 1990s. The eldest, Sarah, lives in Kholon, Israel with her family. My younger sister, Raisa, immigrated to New York, USA. Both of them are happy with their new lives.
