Oto Konstein’s maternal grandmother and uncle

This photo was taken while my maternal grandmother Malvina Heimer spent couple of weeks in Lipik.

She was sent there for curing therapy, since there is thermal bath in Lipik. While she was there, my uncle Bela Heimer came to visit her. During this visit, this phot was taken.

I don't know where exactly my maternal grandparents Leopold and Malvina Heimer were born, but they lived in Cakovec most of their lives.

Actually, they lived in the same street where my parents, my sister and I lived, so I spent a lot of time with them when I was very young.

My grandmother Malvina, born around 1877, was a housewife. She died in 1938, and fortunately never lived to experience war tragedies.

Other things I remember vaguely. My mother had 2 brothers; the eldest brother Bela Heimer was born in 1901. He lived in Varazdin and worked in a silk factory.

He was married to Ivka Heimer and they had one daughter named Verica. They were all murdered in the war - his wife and daughter died in 1941 Loborgrad and Bela died in Jasenovac in 1942.
