Lev Khlevner at a RCP plenary session

This picture was taken in the town of Belovodsk on January 6, 1932, during the 4th RCP - Russian Communist Party - plenaty session.

There is the inscription on the photo stating this: “4th plenary session of Belovodsk Russsian Communist Party Committee. 6.1.1932”.

My father’s family was poor, that is why he worked at a brick factory since he was 9 years old. Later he was enlisted to the army.

After the active service he studied at various Party courses and worked at high managing positions. After my father finished the Party courses in Odessa in 1930s, he was assigned to work in Belovodsk as Raypotrebsoyuz (District Consumer Committee) chairman.

Later he worked as Third Secretary of District Party Committee and was among the thirty people, who had special status in the field of purchases.

It was starvation time, the plenum was gathered for the purpose of explaining to people that everything from the barns had to be given to the state. Everything was swept away from people's barns.
