Isac Tinichigiu and the son of his niece Leah Weintraub

This photo was taken in 1986, when my son Paul and I visited my sister Sabina Weintraub, nee Tinichigiu in Haifa, Israel. I?m holding the son of Sabina's daughter Leah Weintraub. Sabina emigrated to Israel in the 1950s, when she married Natan Weintraub. They settled in Haifa, in Kiriat Haim. Sabina had worked in a textile plant here, but she was a housewife in Israel. Natan had worked as a waiter here, and he worked on ships in Israel, so he was away most of the time. He also owned a kiosk with refreshments, sweets, icecream, those kind of things. Sabina lives in a nice house with three rooms, not far from the sea; I remember the air conditioning, it was great! The humidity in the air was hard to bear! Sabina has two daughters, Zava and Leah; they are both grown up now and live separately, in three-bedroom apartments, with large living rooms. Zava is married to Israel Unger, and she has two daughters, Ifat and Ionit; Israel works as a technical consultant in a refinery and Zava works as a clerk, I don?t know where. Leah didn't get the chance to get married. Probably because of the demanding job that she has as a hair stylist. So she had an artificial insemination, because she wanted to be a mother, and this is her child, a boy. I don?t remember the kid's name. We felt very much welcome in Israel. When we arrived, all the family gathered and we went out to eat in a nice restaurant, and recalled old family stories. We stayed for almost two months in Israel.
