This is my maternal grandmother Dora Blehman. This photo was taken in Odessa in 1910.
Grandmother Dora was born in 1877, but I don’t know where. Hers name was Dvoira, but we called her Dora. After my grandfather died in 1927 my grandmother continued her cow keeping business. She didn't have any help and did all work by herself. My grandmother died in 1931. She was only 54 years old, still young, and I think, she worked herself out and down. I only have dim memories about my grandmother. My grandmother was buried near my grandfather in the Second Jewish cemetery in Vodoprovodnaya Street. I believe they were religious since my mother went to the synagogue later. My grandmother and grandfather had eight children.
