Agnesa Urbanova

This is a photo of me at the age of 14 or 15 during an ROH trip to Prague. The photograph was taken in 1949 or 1950, the name of the photo studio that took the photo is Foto VUDY, Praha XIV. It was after the war, when only my mother was still alive, so I used to spend my summer vacation mainly with my girlfriends. We used to go to the movies, and when we were older, to dances as well. Now and then my mother and I would go on ROH recreational trips. We used to go on hikes together, and on sightseeing tours, when they were available. I think I was at camp only once or twice. Otherwise I always went to my aunt's place. The camp was Jewish, it was in Lubochna, but I don't remember any details any more. I went to the camp by myself. In Ruzomberok I actually had only one close Jewish girlfriend, Julika Bockova, who I also attended school with, first high school and then also tech school. There I had more of those non-Jewish girlfriends. I never felt any anti-Semitism, not at school, or at work when I was already working. I can't say that I did. To this day, I'm still in touch with my non-Jewish girlfriends from Ruzomberok.
