The family Vostrel on Mount Zion, Jerusalem (22 april 1934)
This photo was taken recently, while I was visiting Israel with my wife Katarina.
While we were there, we met with my friends from childhood who live today in Israel. The photo was taken while we were in Netanya.
I am the in center, and next to me is my wife Katarina. Standing next to me on the other side is my friend Eugen Cajzler, and next to him is his wife, she is Israeli. This was the first time that we met after the war was over.
All three of use were in concentration camps, and we went through the same terrible and horrifying traumas.
This is my older sister, Hava.
In 1932, my older sister, Hava, joined a kibbutz in Poland and lived there for one year. There she met Yakov Blikh, who became her boyfriend, and who helped her to emigrate from Poland to Israel where she intended to study medicine by providing the certificates for her departure and some money.
Yakov and Hava were eventually married. My parents sent her off to Israel with a plush blanket and a beautiful coat. I have a photo of her from that time. She was very beautiful and all of the available men in Rovno were in love with her.
This photograph was taken in Israel in 2003. You can see my younger brother Mark, his wife, his daughter and his grandchildren.
When my brother left for Israel (it happened approximately in 1996), he called me to follow him, but I refused. The point is that I am an engineer and I like to work.
Here I am, Simon Meer, at my brother Iancu Meer's poultry farm.
Iancu took the picture, he grabbed me by collecting eggs from the boilers.
Here you can see, Iancu’s, my brothers family.
He is standing in the back row the third from the right with his wife and in front of them are their five children.
The older boy Slomo Meer and in the front the little girl seems to be Sarola Meer.
The names of the rest children I forgot their names.
The couple on the left is my brother Moses Meer with his wife, Hermina Meer, and the couple on the right is my younger brother, Hanina Meer, with his wife, Rachel Meer.
The picture was taken Israel, probably in Rehovot, towards the end of the 1960s.
This photo I took, 1969, when I was in Israel.
I am the fourth from the left, to my right is my aunt Ruhla Butnaru, behind her is my brother Moses Meer.
The second from the right is Hermina Meer, Moses wife and right from her her cousin Sophie Peretz, the daughter of my mother’s brother, Elias Abramovici.
The second on the left is my younger brother Hanina Meer and on his right his wife Rachel Meer.
