Alexander Schneidmesser

Born in 1988 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. Immigrated to Germany with his parents in 1995. Grew up in Hamburg and Lübeck.

Studied Eastern European Cultural Studies in Potsdam and Jerusalem.

Fields of interest: History of the Holocaust, migration research, anti-Semitism, culture of remembrance.

From 2016 to 2022 he worked in Israel as a research assistant at the International Institute for Holocaust Studies in Yad Vashem and assisted in seminars and study excursions at the University of Potsdam on the culture of remembrance in Germany, Israel, and the post-Soviet space. He has been part of the Centropa team as project coordinator since spring 2022.
