The students of National College „Iulia Hasdeu” Commemorated the Holocaust

The 9th of October represents the National Day of Commemorating the Holocaust  in Romania. For this day, the students of the National College „Iulia Hasdeu” Lugoj took part in some activities related to it. They joined in into the Jewish Community of Lugoj in a ceremony organized by the city synagogue. There, Mr. Ivan Bloch, president of the community, talked to the students about the tragedy that this historical event is.

On the 9th of October the intercounty project called „Holocaustul prin ochii copiilor” (“The Holocaust through children's eyes”) ended through organizing an exposition of the students' work in the halls of the National College „Iulia Hasdeu” Lugoj. In this competition project, cofinanced by the Timiș County Council, through the „Agenda Culturală” program, the students who realized the best pieces of work, having the issue of the Holocaust as a theme, were awarded with diplomas and t-shirts with the project's logo. In the „Holocaustul prin ochii copiilor” project, which took part from May to October 2017, over 120 students got involved.
