Helsingin Saksalainen Koulu

The German School in Helsinki is a school of encounters. Our main goal is to connect young people to the languages and cultures of Finland and Germany. We emphasize the German language as a medium of teaching and the goal for our students is to finish school with the Abitur (i.e. higher education entrance qualification). Our school is open to pedagogical questions of modern language acquisition and to the integration of both cultures and traditions. Our students experience a sense of openness to the world and its cultures, and acquire a high proficiency in several languages, which increasingly becomes a necessity in order to cope with future responsibilities.
