Moritz Assa's family

This is a photograph of my husband's family: his mother Margarita, his father Isak Assa and their two children, Moritz and Lika. The picture was taken in the 1920s during a vacation outside Plovdiv, probably in Velingrad, where my father-in-law liked to go with his family. My husband's father was a commissionaire. He used to go around the villages and gather orders. My husband's family was rich enough. They had their own house in Plovdiv. Moritz's family didn't want me to marry him because I was poor. His parents and sister lived in Plovdiv all their lives.
