Mirrah Kogan at a masquerade at the Medical Institute

This is me dressed up as the Soviet Constitution (an outfit that my mother made for me) at the masquerade at the Medical Institute. The photo was taken in Odessa in December 1939.

After finishing the eighth grade some of my schoolmates and I went to the Rabfak. In 1936 I entered the Sanitary and Hygiene Faculty of the Medical Institute. I had to study a lot there; it was a very challenging institute. I became a Komsomol member at the institute. I took an active part in public life and had many friends among the students. We enjoyed attending parties at the institute. We didn’t have any problems associated with the issues of nationality.

We enjoyd attending parties at the institute. We had a very good time during these parties, were singing and dancing. For the costume in the picture I got the first price at the masquerade.
