Karoly Izsak and his sister, Flora Lowi

This photo was taken in Szatmarnemeti in they year 1900. The little boy on the left side of the picture is my father, Karoly Izsak, at the age of three, next to him is his two years older sister, Flora. They were Mozes Izsak's and Hani Steiner's youngest children. They had three brothers: Ignac, Ede and Henrik, and a sister: Eszter, or Etel.

They lived on Tisza Kalman Square, in more modest circumstances than before. For my father, even when he was old already, the Tisza Kalman Square didn't only mean the first home in Budapest, but also soccer. He played on the square many times, and later he played soccer with pleasure as a young man, too, in occasional teams. He was always interested in soccer, he went to games and watched the telecasts. I think he cheered for the MTK, if he supported any team at all.
