Julia Gluck

Two of my grandmother's siblings, her brother and one of her sisters immigrated to America at the beginning of the 1890s. Izidor Gluck left first, then Juliska followed him two years later. She got married in New York, to one of her first cousins from the Grad side of the family (my maternal great-grandmother was Grad), to Miksa Kohn. They had two children. Their son was called Elias, he had two sons. One of them married an Afro-American girl. Juliska's daughter Edith came for a visit to Hungary twice. This picture of Julia Gluck was taken in Hungary in 1891, but many other pictures of her remained, which she sent from America after she immigrated. On the backside of the pictures she writes to her father and siblings with kind and warm words. The regular correspondence among the siblings remained until the end of their lives.
