Erika Ellenbugen with her husband

This is a photo of my sister, Erika Esther Ellenburgen, nee Seiler, at her wedding with Alfred Ellenburgen in 1959 in Brasov. At the time, my sister worked as a Russian teacher and he worked at the Commercial Academy, as an accountant I think. They married in the Neolog synagogue here. They had a beautiful wedding, my parents tried it make her the perfect wedding, so she had everything she wanted. I think there was only one haham left in Brasov by that time, the other one had gone to Israel. The party after the ceremony too place here, where I live now: we took out all the furniture, brought food, and the party was very nice. They have had a very happy marriage, not like me. They are both religious, they go to the synagogue on the high holidays, I meet them there, and am sure they observe the laws at home as well. They are not fanatically religious, however, and I know my sister, just like me, doesn?t observe the kashrut because it is too hard. They had a son, Marcel Ellenburgen, in 1961. Marcel married a Romanian, Julia, and they have two boys, They all live in Israel now.
