Alexander Paskov's mother's brother, Zinovi Levitin

This is my uncle, my mother's older brother Zinovi Levitin.
He was born in Starodub in 1900.
He was one of the organizers of the collective farm movement,
on the Jewish agricultural commune 'Unity,'
which was founded in the spring of 1921
on the farmstead Belovshchina in the Starodub district.
At one time he was its chairman.
The whole Levitin family joined the commune.

In spring of 1934 when the commune was relocated to the Crimea,
the Levitins remained in Starodub.
Zinovi worked as an accountant.

During the war he served as the higher lieutenant in the Rokossov army.
He was awarded the order of the Red Star and a medal for heroism.

After the war he worked in the financial section
of the regional management of agricultural in Oryol.
He died in there in 1981 without children.
