Anna Vidor

This is the picture from the identity card of my mother Anna Vidor, nee Hahn. It was taken in Bratislava in 1944. My mother was born in 1885 in Felegyhaza, which was then part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. My father came to Bratislava when he was in the military. Here he met my mother in the theater and he simply fell in love. My mother was very pretty, and they married when she was 20. I was born five years later. My parents first lived on Grosslingova Street, which was lined with very nice houses. That's where I was born. Even my birth certificate says Grosslingova 15. It was only in 1944 that my parents were deported; my husband and me, too. I'm the only one, who returned. My mother perished in Auschwitz in 1944.
