Adolf Munk with his wife, her sister and friends

This is a picture from the 1920s. Even before their wedding, my parents used to go with Aunt Elsa and friends on vacations to the sea to Rujana Island (in German: Rügen). Walking in the photograph are from the left my mother Olga Munkova (nee Nachodova), my father Adolf Munk, their friends Mr. and Mrs. Zemanek, and on the far right Auntie Elsa Edererova (nee Nachodova). My father still had a mustache at that time, but eventually he had to shave if off, because my mother didn't like it. My mother always told me about Mr. and Mrs. Zemanek, that they had a lot of fun with them. They themselves looked quite funny, because he was this little man, and his wife was almost a head taller than he. When we children were growing up, our parents didn't go to Rujana any more, but every year took us on vacation to Spindleruv Mlyn or to go visit our relatives in Doubravice. Only my brother Jirka didn't go with us, because he had a nanny who took him with her to visit her own family.
