Centropa final event in Budapest

On the 26th of May, Centropa Hungary held a grand final event in the Holocaust Memorial Center of Budapest, where more than 300 students and teachers came together to receive an award for their projects and work in the 2016/17 school year. We awarded the participants of the Visegrád video competition, the Common Ground Educational Project, and those who hosted our Hungarian exhibitions and created lesson plans for the Centropa webpage.

Before the ceremony, the participants of the Visegrád video competition – students from Poland, Slovakia, Hungary and the Czech Republic – had time to meet, get to know each other, play ice breaking games, and create montage pictures together about what connects them all. The video competition in numbers: 40 videos, 11 special prize, 1 audience prize, 4 runner-ups, 2 winners! If you are interested in the results, click here. Participants of the Common ground projects – students from various schools of Hungary with different background – also met before the ceremony and learned about each other’s projects.

Another school year has passed, and Centropa is very proud of all the active and creative teachers and students who created fantastic projects using our materials. This final event represented the core of Centropa: diversity, coming together, learning together.

We are thankful for everyone who take part in this event – and look forward to meet you next year!
