Meeting Lore Robinson - the cheesecake-project

When she left Cologne on the Kindertransport in June 1939, Lore Robinson took her family's traditional cheesecake recipe with her. She had written it on a piece of paper and put it in a book. Later she often made that cheesecake for her family, passed the recipe on and today, her daughter and her granddaughter make it. Many stories and memories are connected with that cake. For her granddaughter, it's a family tradition and a connection to the past and their roots.

Jawne, Cologne, Germany

Right in the busy centre of Cologne there is a small side street, the St.-Apern-Strasse. It is a quiet street, sided by modern and turn-of the century buildings that house small shops. After the match is before the match

It's been two days since I left Berlin and I'm slowly winding down. I got rid of the stitches and the annoying tape, that helps a lot! Today, I met a collegue and good friend of mine and of course I told her about centropa, our week in Berlin, the projects, the films, my ideas ... and she was not only patient but also very interested. I realized, again, how thrilled, excited and rather hooked I am about the possibilties centropa offers and I do hope that I'll be able to convey some of this to my collegues.

Final Whistle

I finally left Berlin after a wonderful, inspiring, buzzing week. The next weeks will be a bit more quiet so that I can sort out all the ideas that have gathered in my mind ... so far.  A big THANKS to Centropa and a big THANKS to everybody!

Halftime

Four intensive Centropa days are  over and my head is brimming with faces and pictures, talks and conversations, inspiration and ideas, impressions and emotions... I will take a lot back home with me. Ideas of how to use Centropa in my school are taking shape. I' m very much looking forward to what is yet to come, as I've done each and every 'centropa-day'!
